Winning At the Grocery Store

What you do when you walk into the grocery store is what can either make or break your eating routine. There are several rules that you should follow when going to the store.

Rule 1-Do not shop when you are hungry. You will be more apt to pick up less healthy choices based on cravings.

Rule 2-Go alone. Do not be tempted by trying to please everyone in the house. Trying to please everyone gets a whole lot more in the cart.

Rule 3-Read the labels. Be picky about what you buy.

Rule 4-Make a list. This will ensure that you get everything. When you fail to make a list you open the door to forget something. That means when you come back you will get that,plus something else.

Rule 5-Do it the same time each week or month. Make it part of your routine. When you know that you have to go at a particular time, you can plan and budget.

Rule 6-Remember to look for the deal. Be resourceful and make sure you only purchase items that will get used. Do purchase anything that you know is going to get wasted.

Rule 7-Think in terms of meals, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Make sure you have a variety to keep from getting bored.

I Need a Workout Partner

Having a workout partner can either motivate or hinder you on your workout schedule. There are several factors and questions that you must answer for yourself before you can determine whether or not you should have a workout partner.

Question 1: Do we have the same schedule? It makes absolutely no sense to get a partner that has a completely different schedule than you. When it is the best time for you to exercise the last thing you need to do is have to wait for someone else, because it did not fit into their schedule.

Question 2: Are they excited and pumped up? Please do not get a partner that is going to do nothing but suck your own motivation. Get someone that is going to stick it out with you and give you that extra push when you need it.

Question 3:Do you have similar exercise goals? Although most want to strictly lose weight. Others want to gain muscle, definition, get stronger physically or cardiovascularly. Make sure you share the same goals.

Question 4: Is there any type of envy between the two of you? If one of you does better than the other will one of you get jealous or will you be happy for the other person.

Question 5: Do they understand that there is social time and then there is exercising time? Especially if you are at the gym, any long conversations should be reserved for the locker room. You can talk later.

Question 6: Do they realize that exercise takes time? Are they ready to stop after 15 minutes? Will they expect you to stop just because they stop?

Question 7: Do they have a healthy outlook on exercise? Do they realize that it takes time to see healthy changes? Are they overly excessive?

Common sense will tell you the answers that you should be looking for when selecting a partner. Sometimes you may need that extra push from someone that will hold you accountable. A good partner can do wonders in helping you succeed. However, a bad partner can do wonders in leading you to failure. It is up to you to decide if you want a partner or not.
